What is the best cockroach killer?

Insecticides can kill cockroaches but they may not completely eliminate the cockroach infestation.  The best cockroach killer often doesn’t involve chemicals but instead, sanitation and exclusion.  After completing those two steps, there are a number of options to kill cockroaches: liquid insecticides, baits, dusts, and boric acid.

How do you get bed bugs?

Bed bugs can infest your home in a number of ways:  luggage or clothing from a recent hotel stay, kid’s backpack or your purse, used furniture purchases are just a few.  Once inside your home bed bugs have the ability to move around to find the best location for a blood meal, which means you!

How do you get rid of fruit flies?

Fruit flies can be challenging to get rid of if you can’t find the source of the infestation.  In addition to breeding in rotten fruit, fruit flies commonly infest drains and feed on the organic matter in the drain traps.  Insecticide sprays are only temporarily effective.  To get rid of fruit flies for good you need to remove their breeding site, organic matter in drains.  An organic drain foam that eats away organic matter is the best way to do this.

What do I do if I find bed bugs on my mattress?

The easy answer(and wrong one) is to throw out your mattress and quickly get rid of the bed bugs.  Unfortunately bed bugs are much smarter than this.  While they are attracted to your mattress at night due to CO2 you exhale while sleeping, during daylight hours they disappear.  In addition to hiding in the seams of your mattress, bed bugs also like sofas, chairs, picture frames, electrical outlets, baseboard cracks, wallpaper, and dressers.  Check out our recent blog posts on bed bugs to learn more about what to do if you find bed bugs on your mattress:

Recommendations on how to get rid of bed bugs?

Getting rid of bed bugs is extremely difficult.  Bed bugs have the ability to hide in very small cracks, crevices, seams of mattresses, etc.  They wait there until detecting CO2 from humans which is their cue to feed(on YOU!).  A bed bug can also go long periods of time without feeding.  Before thinking about insecticides to kill bed bugs, the first(and most important step) is prepping your home for a bed bug treatment.  For more information on bed bug extermination and tips for getting rid of bed bugs quickly, please visit the following recent blog posts:

How can you tell the difference between mouse and rat droppings?

Rat droppings are much larger(1/2 inch) with blunt ends; whereas, mouse droppings are 1/4 inch and will taper at the end.  The amount of droppings may be an indicator as to the severity of the rodent infestation.

What is a termite bond and what does a termite inspection include?

A termite bond is a contract or agreement with a pest control company specializing in termite prevention that guarantees the company will come back and re-treat if there are ever signs of termites.  Think of a termite bond as insurance against future treatment costs for termite infestations of your home.  Just as you wouldn’t drive a a car without insurance, you probably don’t want to own a home without termite insurance.  Termite bonds are normally guaranteed for a 12 month period with an option to renew every year.

The two primary treatment options for termite control are liquid and bait systems.  Synergy² uses the cutting-edge termite bait system, Trelona, exclusively.
